Job Description
H&I Engineering Ltd, is a successfully family-run company founded in 1973 and based in Eastriggs, Annan, Scotland, is a well-known and respected mechanical engineering business offering fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance service
We are now hiring for a skilled pipefitter/welder to join the team in Eastriggs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems, as well as performing welding tasks to ensure high-quality construction and maintenance of projects.
The position will include workshop and site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret Drawings and specifications to determine the layout and assembly of piping systems.
- Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes to required specifications.
- Install and secure pipes, fittings, and fixtures using welding techniques, brackets, clamps, and other tools.
- Conduct welding operations in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks to ensure pipe connections are secure and meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as needed.
- Work with various materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloys.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter/Welder or similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions, including confined spaces and high elevations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.

TIG Welders
Time-Served & Coded
Key Objectives
To produce consistent level of high quality welded joints on various products, while utilising a diverse range of welding processes & techniques. These are subjected to strenuous inspection with U/T, X-Ray & MPI techniques.
Main Duties
Welding of pipework, support frames, shell boilers & pressures vessels in carbon and stainless steel using TIG welding processes.
Skills Required
- Time served Coded Welder essential
- Completion of Recognised Craft Apprenticeship.
- Good overall diversity in various welding processes
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Must be conversant with fabrication drawings
- Work is based at both our workshop and customer’s sites.
- Coded to ASME IX 2015
- Coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1 : 2017
