Golden Milestone for H&I
There are few family businesses that can boast 50 successful years but H&I Engineering is an exception to the rule.
With a track record stretching back five decades and a local, national and international customer base, the company is well placed to ride out the challenge of a troubled economy.
At the helm is managing director Graham Hind who launched the company with his close friend Davie Irvine back in June 1973.
Founded as boiler installers and repairers, the fledgling firm operated out of an old weigh bridge building at Annan railway station. As their reputation grew, the need for bigger premises became a necessity and the move to Solway Works factory in Eastriggs came about in 1976. Davie Irvine bowed out of the partnership in 1990 and the company rebranded as H&I Engineering Ltd.
H&I Engineering draws on the skill and expertise of its team of skilled welders, platers and fitters – each highly experienced in their field. Graham is quick to praise his staff for the quality of work they produce. He said “it has taken a lot of hard work to get to where we are today and our skilled and reliable workforce have played a huge part in our success”
“No order is too big or too small and we take pride on every job that leaves our factory”
